All About Nat

Natalie Vavricka is an accomplished athlete (Boston Marathon Qualifier at 23), online media guru, and writer. Since graduating Lafayette College as an English major in 2002, Natalie has worked for some of the most reputable corporations in both the health and interactive industries. She’s held positions at Fortune 100 companies, start-ups, and Comscore Top 10 online health destinations and has connections with some of the biggest and most groundbreaking freelancers and names in interactive media, search, nutrition, editorial, and PR.

Natalie is awful at math and science but pretty good with the written and spoken word. To the horror and/or amusement of everyone around her, she’s been talking since she was 1 and writing since…well, since she could hold a crayon. Her writing styles range widely. She wrote for her college paper, she’s written philosphy essays. She’s composed countless love notes and cease and desist letters. She is exceptional at writing e-mails and is, hands down, one of the best texters and IMers around. She’s freelanced for various South Jersey newspapers, tutored high-schoolers in English, and is an obsessisive-compulsive list maker.

Natalie has also been fortunate enough to have written for some of the most prestigious health destinations on the web. From interviewing hip-hop stars, celebrity trainers, doctors and nutritionists, writing about how foods impact your mood and reporting on health news and trends to blogging about personal experiences and copywriting, her humor, warmth, and exceptional storytelling skills resonate in her work. She’s currently community manager/lead moderator for the health message boards of one of the most trafficked online health destinations and interacts daily with consumers on topics ranging from depression and weight-loss to relationships and diabetes. Her personality shines through, giving her the uncanny ability of making her readers feel as if they know her—even if they may have only met in a former (and possibly twisted) life.

Her feature articles have been seen by millions, and her expertise in the diet, fitness, health and wellness fields have helped keep her ahead of the curve and able to identify with her audience.

So she’s an athlete and a writer…but so what? What makes Natalie Vavricka different from the thousands of other athletes/writers/fitness experts out there on the web?

Simply put, those closest to Natalie would say that although she has a solid work ethic, she never takes life too seriously - - and she would be the first to admit to this as well. The most important things in her life are her family and friends…and she seems to make friends everywhere she goes, whether it’s a new city, a new company, or a deli or laundramat. Natalie absorbs and is able to see the humor in those everyday events that most just trudge through. She thinks in titles. She believes that laughter, running, and the occasional if not frequent glass (es) of wine are the best medicine - - and she’s constantly searching for ways to make others smile. She has vices just like everyone else, but this just makes her approach to diet, health, fitness, and life in general even more real…right?

Other skills and interests include: Fainting goats, Editing, social networking sites, Gain Joyful Expressions dryer sheets, search engine optimization, random acts of kindness, oxytocin, running, ligers, impersonating South Park characters, playing classical piano while blindfolded, freezing cold rooms, bubble baths, riding in shopping carts, The Discovery Health Channel, speed reading, doing chin-ups, text messaging, corn, and laughing until her stomach hurts.
